RICHMOND, Ind. — A Richmond dentist now leads a state dental organization.
Dr. Jill Burns has begun her 2022-23 term as president of the Indiana Dental Association, according to a news release. She is the group’s third female president after beginning her duties during the Midwest Dental Assembly conference in Fort Wayne.
The IDA is the state constituent society of the American Dental Association and has 3,000 members.
Burns, who graduated from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, owns West Main Family Dental. She has practiced in Richmond since 1992 after serving seven years as a Navy dental officer
Burns previously has been the IDA’s vice president and speaker of the house and has been a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and House of Delegates.
LYNN, Ind. — Merchants Bank of Indiana is hosting a “Grand Hop-ening” event to celebrate its newly relocated branch.
The event is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 6 at 201 S. Main St., according to a news release. It will involve a ribbon cutting ceremony by Michael F. Petrie, the co-founder and chairman of Merchants Bancorp.
“We are thrilled to give our Lynn branch a proper celebration worthy of our team’s hard work and incredible dedication to the community,” Petrie said in the release. “Our associates in Lynn work hard to earn our customers’ business by providing quality products and great deposit rates, and this revitalized branch helps give our customers the financial tools they need. We’re excited to officially share our renovated branch with the community.”
The “Grand Hop-ening” is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments, sweet treats, trackless train rides, games, prize drawings and a Kicks 96 live broadcast. Hopper, the bank’s frog mascot, will also make a special appearance.
The new Lynn branch that officially opened earlier this year is one of six in the state along with two in Carmel and one each in Richmond, Indianapolis and Spartanburg.
