Norwalk Hospital Receives $9,550 Grant From Delta Dental Foundation

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk Hospital will receive a $9,550 grant from the Delta Dental of New Jersey Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut.

The grant will allow the hospital to provide dental care for approximately 230 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Fairfield County, according to a news release.

“Our mission at the Delta Dental Foundation is to improve the oral health of New Jersey and Connecticut residents by funding projects that address the oral health care challenges our neighbors and communities face,” Dennis Wilson, CEO of Delta Dental of Connecticut, said in a news release. “We are proud to be a leader in oral health care giving across Connecticut and we look forward to continuing our collaborations with our foundation grantees and partners on the path toward better health for all.”

Norwalk Hospital is among seven organizations in Connecticut that are receiving more than $315,000 to support the oral and overall health of communities in the state. The grants will provide positive support for more than 15,500 residents in Connecticut, according to the foundation.

The contributions will help provide dental care to thousands of uninsured and underinsured seniors, intellectually and developmentally disabled adults and children, disadvantaged children, and veterans across the state, according to the foundation.

Among the largest recipients of Delta Dental’s contributions is the UCONN Foundation, which received $95,180 in 2022 to support the UCONN Health Special Care Dentistry Program, which provides care to those with developmental disabilities. The grant awarded to UCONN Foundation is a multi-year commitment with nearly $250,000 to be awarded over three years, according to the foundation.
