An award-winning Cardiff-based commercial law firm has expanded its UK footprint and strengthened its healthcare sector position with the acquisition of a specialist dental legal advisory firm.
Acuity Legal has acquired Goodman Grant, which has offices in Leeds and Liverpool.
Goodman Grant provides specialist legal advice to dentists, having been led by directors Ray Goodman and John Grant since 2011.
The deal forms part of Acuity’s UK expansion strategy.
The firm’s healthcare team has grown to more than 30 lawyers working throughout the UK. It has completed £250m of deals in the last three years, buoyed by a record period within the dentistry sector for mergers and acquisitions.
The Acuity healthcare team is headed up by Jon Lawley, lead partner at Acuity Law, who said: “We’re incredibly proud of our rapidly growing reputation and client base in the healthcare sector, and this acquisition is another key milestone for us as build on our dental expertise.

The integration of staff is being led by Acuity’s head of employment and HR, Claire Knowles, with all of Goodman Grant’s team members being retained.

Acuity has a team of more than 130 exceptional lawyers. As well as its new Leeds and Liverpool locations, the firm has offices in London, Bristol, Cardiff, and Swansea, with plans to expand further in 2022/23.
