Dentist to open at Orchard Centre in Didcot

A NEW dental surgery is opening in Didcot in an old shop space that has been vacant for four years.

Corona Vulcan Didcot II Ltd applied to South Oxfordshire District Council, the planning authority, in April this year to change the use of unit 47 in the Orchard Centre, off Station Road, which they own.

They will rent the unit out to a dental company, which has not yet been named, to “facilitate bringing a vacant unit into active use”.

The planning authority granted permission to change the use of the building from a shop to a dental surgery this month.

Sharon Crawford, a planning officer, said: “The development would provide a use to the wider Orchard Centre and contributes positively to the vitality and viability of the town centre.”
