The Chief Executive of the Irish Dental Association is warning that problems accessing care in Clare can’t be ignored.

It comes as the number of dentists treating medical card patients in this county has halved since 2019 and has dropped by 5 in the first six months of this year alone.

The association believes public dentistry could collapse completely without immediate intervention from the Health Minster.

CEO of the Irish Dental Association, Fintan Hourihan, says while overhauling the scheme won’t happen overnight, action needs to be taken now.
