Black Ethiopian Dental Worker Lacks Proof of Bias, Retaliation

A Black Ethiopian dental assistant in Indiana who said race and national origin bias caused her low performance ratings and denial of a merit-based pay raise failed to back her claims, the Seventh Circuit ruled Tuesday.

Lily Abebe also lacked proof that the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County put her on a performance improvement plan in retaliation for contacting the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission about the alleged bias, the court said.
