Apple site swamped with customers, who wait hours to get phone to work
iPhone 3G launch day was supposed to be about long lines for the popular devices, not about problems getting them activated.
But across the country, new 3G iPhones failed to activate after purchase and bricked older iPhones, rendered useless by the recently released iPhone update firmware.
For me, four hours in line for the new iPhone meant I got one (although not the model I wanted), and it could not be activated in the store, which Apple and AT&T had previously said was the only place it could be activated.

Just how FUCKED is this country when people will line up, over night, down the block, to get the lastest overpriced Gizmo, yet couldn’t give a rats ass about the U.S. Constitution being destroyed piece by piece?

That’s pretty damned bad. But I think it’s even worse that people will pay to vote for someone on American Idol but they won’t vote for free in a city, county, state or federal election (which might have helped keep the Constitution from being destroyed in the first place).
