70B OK’d for Iraq and Afghan war funds

WASHINGTON - House-Senate negotiators Thursday approved a new $70 billion infusion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan as they wrapped up talks on a $447 billion        Pentagon funding bill.

The additional war funds would bring the total approved by Congress for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since Sept. 11, 2001, to more than $500 billion, with another installment likely to come next spring.

Is it possible to get a refund for the never ending war on an adjective? So we’ve spent $500 Billion have we?  for what?

Not for Osama Bin Laden, Not for any WMD’s in Iraq (The ones we bought Saddam were used on Iran almost 20 years ago), not for any prestige, security, or new friends in the world.

Just what in the hell did we get for our $500 Billion Dollars?

Someone, please tell me!

Did we pay $500 Billion for a tin-pot dictator in the Middle East who actually FOUGHT AGAINST radical Islamic states and terror groups?  Is that what we bought?  Or maybe we bought and paid for the resurgent poppy fields and drug cartels in Afghanistan?  Or maybe it was for all that missing money in Iraq, or all the contracts to Halliburton and company?  Is that what we bought for $500 Billion Dollars?

Hmmm… Doesn’t sound like a very good deal to me, especially when one considers what $500 Billion Dollars can buy you these days…

555 Gallons of gas for every man, woman, and child in the entire united states at $3 a gallon.

50% of the total estimated cost to send a manned mission to mars.

Enough money to give every single public school teacher in the USA a $16,000.00 /yr raise for the next 10 years.

Enough money to give every man, woman, and child a $1,666.00 tax refund.

This list can go on and on,  $500 Billion is a lot of money, heck give me 1/100th of that and I’ll put it to far better use than blowing the crap out of 100,000 innocent Iraqi’s, destroying our civil liberties, ignoring the U.S. Constitution, creating untold new terrorists, and creating a new sectarian civil war in Iraq.

$500 Billion…  poof… gone…. Forever
