Republicans, Democrats Differ on Creationism

Republicans much more likely than Democrats to believe humans created as-is 10,000 years ago

PRINCETON, NJ — There is a significant political divide in beliefs about the origin of human beings, with 60% of Republicans saying humans were created in their present form by God 10,000 years ago, a belief shared by only 40% of independents and 38% of Democrats.

However, with 38% of Democrats, and 40% of independents also believing the earth was created 10,000 years ago, one can only conclude that there are (in the words of George Carlin)  A lot of stupid mother fuckers out there.

Just as depressing: when you look at the numbers, between 1982 and 2006, the % of Americans believing in REAL evolution (not the christofacist intellyguny design nonsense) only increased from 9% to 14%

That’s right,  24 years of scientific advances have only brought enlightenment and reason to only 5% more Americans in 2006 than it did in 1982.

From this I can conclude, that America will be have a majority dumbshit population for the rest of my life.   Throw in the impending turmoil that’s sure to be caused by the end of peak oil and the start of the Long Emergency,  well,  it doesn’t look so good does it.
