Movie Review: Rudy

Real Rudy Tackle

Last week I watched one of my favorite all time movies: “RUDY”. with Sean Astin which came out around 10-11 years ago.

The movie itself was never a huge hit, it didn’t go on to win any academy awards, but it has to be one of the most inspirational movies I’ve ever seen, and I’m not even a Notre Dame fan.

I always get very emotional at the end of this movie, right at the last scene, and I wondered why.  (Don’t worry, I won’t ruin it for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie yet).  So I played the last minute of the movie over and over again.  That scene is so incredibly well done,  I believe what makes it so amazing is the way it was edited, the way the music score hits it at the end, and the culmination of everything you’ve learned about Rudy in the past 2 hours,  but most of all, it’s because its true, it really happened the way it did, and for once you’re NOT being manipulated into a Hollywood Ending, instead you’re seeing the Hollywood version of a true real life Hollywood ending.

Rudy

If you’re looking to be inspired by a true story, about a kid who follows his dream against all odds, that has an unlikely, yet incredible ending, then I highly recommend “Rudy”,  even if you’re not a sports (or Notre Dame) Fan.    (Hey my girlfriend liked it so much she’s thinking of showing it to her 5th grade class).

I LOVED THE MOVIE - I LAUGHED, CRIED, & CHEERED FOR RUDY. IT REMINDED ME OF THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING DREAMS. (IT WAS A WELL ACTED MOVIE,)
