Coffee

I’ll be heading to Racine Wisconsin for the holidays later today, so I apologize in advance for any large gaps in your daily goofy reading.

Here are a few tidbits to keep you going…

If you’re looking for some new reading material in the coming year, you’re in luck!  The U.S. Government will be declassifying millions of pages of material at midnight on December 31st.

Is a boogeyman that’s alive, and out there somewhere, better than a dead boogeyman?    It probably is, if your goal is to keep your population in such a constant state of fear that they will allow you to do almost anything (invade countries, wiretaps, torture, bankrupt the nation, etc ) in order to “protect” them from that boogeyman.   Well, it appears that perhaps Osama might be the perfect never-ending boogeyman, and if that’s the case, you can’t have those pesky French soldiers killing him when they get the chance….twice.

Speaking of deaths, looking for a stupid way to die when it’s your turn?   My personal favorite has to be Aeschylus getting a tortoise thrown on his bald head by a passing bird.

And finally…  Did you get your kid one of those new robot toys you see at places like the Discovery Store or Toys R’ Us this year?   Well, some people believe those robots, and their future incarnations deserve rights.

(And thus it begins……..     )

Have a Merry Christmas/Kwanza/Chuanakah/New Years!   I’ll be writing you from the frigid northlands of Racine Wisconsin starting tomorrow.
