Early Techno, and old song found on the intertubes
Have you ever tried to find a song you heard years and years ago, but you couldn’t remember the name of the song, or who did it?
When I first moved to San Francisco, there was this song that was played on the radio ALL THE TIME. Almost on the hour, and at the time, it was a big deal because no one had really heard this kinda thing on main stream radio, it was early proto techno, and in the early 90’s we were in the midst of grunge, and on the tail end of the glam rock era.
Well thanks to the intertubes and you-tube, I finally found it. Not only that, I found the video, which I had never seen. (above).
The song is Temple, by Messiah, and now 15 years later I can finally hear it again. Heck I didn’t even know that the “It’s time to start…running!” was taken from the movie “The Running Man” with Ahhhhnold until I saw the video.
Hearing this brings back some memories. And it’s still a techno classic.
