Cool Stuff: The BBC & Oxford University Team up For Climate Distributed Computing Project

BBC & Oxford Project

The BBC and Oxford University have joined forces to create a new distributed computing project.  This project, similar to other Distributed Computing projects like SETI At Home, will use your computers extra CPU Cycles to crunch a piece of data in the project.  (Usually while the screen saver is running).

The purpose of the project is to study climate change and greenhouse gases and their feedback mechanisms.

It’s been a long time since I offered up my PC for a distributed computing project, I was part of SETI At Home a long time ago, I think I’ll give this one a shot.
