A week and a half to go until the 2006 congressional elections,  it’s looking pretty good for the Democrats to re-take the House of Representatives for the first time since the infamous “Contract with America” Republican take-over in 1994.

And what a swell contract that was,  here we are 12 years later, with our nation in hock up to it’s neck, in a never-ending war in Iraq, a congress that refuses to perform any oversite over the President, and Republican congressman getting thrown out of office for everything from bribes, to all out fraud to flirting with teenage boys.

So has America had enough?     We’ll see.

The Weapons of Mass Destruction have been found in Iraq!  Yes that’s right,  according to Bush in his speech yesterday;

Recently, American and Iraqi forces have launched some of the most aggressive operations on enemy forces in Baghdad since the war began. They have cleared neighborhoods of terrorists and death squads and uncovered large caches of weapons, including sniper scopes and mortars and powerful bombs.

There it is!  we’ve found “Sniper scores, mortars, and powerful bombs”   while a sniper scope may not have the same effect as a “mushroom cloud” or “500 tons of sarin, mustard and VX nerve agent.” How about we call those scopes WMD’s, call it victory, and go home.  How about it?

No?  not enough… we have more to do there?   We need to “Stay the course”  oops.. I mean… “Finish the Mission?”   Oh ok.   Well… back to the daily grind then.
