2/12/2008 May be known as the day the USA came to an end

 Burning Constitution

Amnesty Day for Bush and lawbreaking telecoms

The Senate today — led by Jay Rockefeller, enabled by Harry Reid, and with the active support of at least 12 (and probably more) Democrats, in conjunction with an as-always lockstep GOP caucus — will vote to legalize warrantless spying on the telephone calls and emails of Americans, and will also provide full retroactive amnesty to lawbreaking telecoms, thus forever putting an end to any efforts to investigate and obtain a judicial ruling regarding the Bush administration’s years-long illegal spying programs aimed at Americans.

More here.

And no one really cares.

Look on CNN.COM, MSNBC.COM, USATODAY.COM, no mention of it really.

I’ll be honest,  while I’ve been watching this issue for the past few months, and the courage of Sen. Dodd to try to stop this,  I’m not sure I even care either.

Lets face it, it’s come to the point now where the total destruction of our Constitution just isn’t news worthy anymore.

We live in a time where laws mean nothing, no one is held accountable for anything, the mainstream press doesn’t even bother to give it any print, and the vast majority of Americans?  they don’t care.

We’re seeing our Republic dismantled, not in a bloody firestorm, but in slow zombie-like walk over a cliff.

Maybe Obama can really be the product of change, but I have to be honest, I really don’t see how that’s possible,  it’s not a Bush thing, or a Republican thing, it’s an American thing.  We, as a people, really don’t care.
